Isn’t it amazing the new people that cross your path? When my friend Chris called me one afternoon and asked me out to dinner I decided to skip the gym and meet her for dinner.
We headed to the local for a meal and good catch up. We were having a great old time, when two fellas walked by and struck up a bit of a conversation and then joined us.
I don’t know about you, however I always find that people and opportunities come into my life when I need them most. These two fellas – Mark and Kym – were from out of town; they were here for a trade show. They were businessmen. We ended up having a very insightful conversation about business and marketing and life in general.
It is interesting how complete strangers can make an assessment of you based purely on first encounters. We’d only been talking for around 45 minutes, and I was told that I was intelligent, savvy, and would easily be successful. Someone else’s assessment and core belief in such a short time – what did they really know? However it must be true – it certainly was for Mark. That was his belief about me, his truth. So why couldn’t it and why shouldn’t it be by own belief?
I left that evening with a renewed sense of purpose, determination and belief.
What about you? Have you ever had a light bulb moment with a stranger?
I’d love to hear your stories, so please leave a comment below.
