Doesn’t time just go! The days, weeks and months just seem to fly by. Today marks another major milestone in my journey. It was 12 months ago that I officially left my Government job and took a redundancy package after nearly 30 years service. There are two amazing time frames in that last sentence. Twelve months ago AND thirty years service.
I don’t know which is more frightening – 12 months or 30 years. Both were filled with such major achievements, events, challenges, growth, and change. And in both instances it seems like only yesterday that I was starting each journey.
It is amazing isn’t it, that wherever you are in your life’s journey, the time really does go very quickly. Looking back I have achieved heaps over the past twelve months, although sometimes it doesn’t feel that way to me.
I’ve come to realise that life and the Universe take care of themselves – and me, and you. Every day brings new experiences, new opportunities, and new adventures.
Speaking of adventures do you find going on holidays exciting and relaxing – especially when you go with a partner or friends? Well me too, however last year I found it challenging because for the first time in over 20 years I went by myself. Some may revel in that thought, at the time I was extremely nervous and wondered how I was going to fill my days. I will tell you more about my adventures another time.
What about buying property? Pretty stressful and time-consuming right. Well I also bought my dream place during the past 12 months. Tune in to my next blog to find out how I did it and why my experience was not stressful at all.
One of the things I have learnt is that gratitude and counting your blessings, taking time to pause and appreciate where you are and what is going on in your life everyday is hugely beneficial.
The wonderful thing about new beginnings is that they are often born out of radical change or massive upheaval or sad endings. I am still finding my path, however I recognise and appreciate that that is the journey: to keep travelling, to keep searching, to keep experiencing, and to keep learning.
How are you faring on your journey? Have you also experienced great change over one or two years? How did you deal with it? I would love to hear your thoughts, comments or tips, along with your own special celebrations. Let’s grow together on this wonderful journey.
Thanks for much for reading this – my first blog – I will be back next month sharing more about how I bought my own special sanctuary.
